History of The International University of Kagoshima
The International University of Kagoshima was founded by Sadasuke Tsumagari(1879-1949) as the first institution of higher education for commerce and economics in Kagoshima.
His successor, Sadao Tsumagari (1915-1983), set up the faculty of sociology, which became the faculty of social welfare in April 2001.
The Tsumagari family's 3rd-generation representative, Sadaharu Tsumagari(1919-), established the graduate school and faculty of intercultural studies.
The university integrates the graduate school, 3 faculties, and a junior college, and promotes exchanges with overseas nations by concluding research agreements with universities and research institutes in the United States, China, South Korea, and Thailand.
The International University of Kagoshima,
a center in southern Japan,is improving its position as an educational
and research institute of the economy,society,welfare,language,information,art,
and culture under the leadership of President Satoshi sechiyama,
Doctor of Economics and Honorary Professor of Kyoto University.
The university expects to develop further in the future.
